What cookies are
A cookie is a small text record a website stores in your browser and reads back on later visits. We use the word loosely here to cover similar browser storage too (local storage), because the honest question is “what does this site remember about me?”, not which mechanism it uses.
Necessary
These are required to run the site and the application, keep them secure, keep you signed in, and remember the choice you make on this page. They cannot be turned off.

Error reporting in the application (Sentry, errors only, with personal data stripped before sending) is also treated as necessary: without it we cannot keep the service working reliably. It sets no cookie.
Performance
Off until you turn it on. Lets us count visits and find slow pages. All of it is aggregated; none of it identifies you.

Not used
We do not use personalisation or advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site or in the application.
How to change your choice
Use the button below or the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page. In the application, open Settings → Features → Cookie preferences, or the “Cookies” link under the sign-in form. Because the choice is stored on .cogdroid.com, changing it here also changes it in the application and the other way round.
Fonts
Fonts on this site and in the application interface are self-hosted or come from your operating system; those pages make no requests to Google Fonts or any other third-party font service. That includes the slide-deck export view in the application, which now uses the same self-hosted and system fonts as the rest of the product.
