Getting started

What does MEDICI actually do?: You brief a market question. Marco Polo researches the live web (and can use private documents you uploaded). On Pro and Patron, Galileo critiques research against retrieved sources and Marco Polo revises. Every plan pauses for research-handoff review before Michelangelo writes strategy - edit the briefing or continue when ready (skip the pause in Settings). Michelangelo synthesizes the plan; on Pro and Patron, Brunelleschi stress-tests feasibility. You leave with a structured report and a deck.
Do I need to install anything?: No. It runs in the browser.
What makes a good brief?: A decision, plus the constraints around it. 'Enterprise healthcare is 40% of pipeline - do we rebuild for it?' beats 'tell me about healthcare software.' Budget, team size, and timeline all belong in the brief.
How long does a run take?: Fast runs take about 1 to 2 minutes; that is measured. Balanced takes about 2 to 4 minutes and Deep about 4 to 8, because they research further and the validators check more; those two are estimates until we have measured enough of them. Longer briefs can run a little over.

The agents

Who are Marco Polo and Michelangelo?: Marco Polo maps the market, incumbents, and whitespace, then hands a structured brief to Michelangelo. Michelangelo turns that brief - and only that brief - into strategy, pricing, a plan, and hiring.
Why Galileo and Brunelleschi?: A model that grades its own homework tends to give itself an A. Galileo and Brunelleschi are editor loops - quality control, not verified evidence. Galileo checks Polo's claims against retrieved sources. Brunelleschi checks Angelo's plan for feasibility and traceability.
What happens when a validator finds a problem?: The original agent revises. A footnote on a bad paragraph is not a fix.
Which tiers include the validators?: Pro and Patron. Launch runs Marco Polo and Michelangelo with the same research-handoff pause; Galileo and Brunelleschi are not on Launch. See pricing.
Is research-handoff review on the Launch free trial?: Yes. Launch (the free trial), Pro, and Patron all include it. It is on by default after Marco Polo finishes research so you can edit the briefing before strategy. Turn Pause for handoff review off in Settings if you prefer an uninterrupted run. Galileo and Brunelleschi validators are Pro/Patron only - not Launch.
What is research-handoff review?: After Marco Polo finishes research, the run pauses so you can read and edit the briefing Michelangelo will use. That is the default on every plan. In the app Settings, turn off Pause for handoff review if you want strategy to start without stopping.
What is the difference between Pro and Patron?: Pro ($99/month) adds Balanced and Deep research, Galileo and Brunelleschi editor loops, multi-query live-web research, full report sections, session history, and report fingerprints. Patron ($1499/year) includes everything in Pro, plus the fullest included compute, priority support, and every specialized agent shipped while subscribed. Extra runs past the included allowance are charged to the card on file before they start. Patron is yearly, not lifetime.
What sources can Marco Polo use?: Live public web search (Exa) at run time, plus relevant passages from private tenant documents you upload in the app. Your brief still supplies the decision and constraints you type in.

The report fingerprint

What is the fingerprint?: A SHA-256 hash of the report content. Change one character and it will not match. Your board can confirm they have the document we produced.
What does it NOT prove?: It does not prove the analysis is correct. It is not a timestamp or a legal attestation. Integrity, not truth.
How do I verify one?: Hash the JSON exactly as delivered - shasum -a 256 on macOS or Linux. Reformatting the file changes the hash. Try it on the sample report.

Plans and billing

Is Launch a trial?: Yes - thirty days, two sessions in total. The first needs only an email; a card is stored before the second and is not charged during the trial. At thirty days it ends and you choose Pro or Patron. Nothing is charged automatically.
Which research modes are on Launch?: Fast only. Balanced and Deep are on Pro and Patron. The published sample was a Balanced run - a Pro-flavored showcase, not what Launch produces.
Do the two trial sessions reset?: No. Two is the whole trial allowance, counted from the day you start. There is no weekly or monthly window to wait out.
Why is Patron not called Lifetime?: Patron is a yearly subscription with a monthly session allowance and a fair-use ceiling. Lifetime would be untrue.
Can I get a refund?: Yes - see the refund policy. Use the Launch trial first if you want to try before you pay.

Data and privacy

Do you train models on my briefs?: Yes, as part of operating and improving MEDICI. Our terms and privacy policy describe how briefs, reports, and usage data may be used to train, fine-tune, evaluate, and benchmark models and agent workflows. We do not sell your identifiable briefs or reports as a standalone dataset.
Should I paste confidential material into a brief?: Brief text goes to a model provider so the analysis can run. Read privacy before you put anything sensitive in.
Can I delete everything?: Yes. Delete the account, or ask us to. Sessions and reports go with it.
